This painting was inspired by a young perception of the world. 'Snail in Woods' is intended to portray the universal experience in childhood of viewing everything around us as 'larger than life' during childhood. I hope the viewers of this work will feel submerged in an unpolluted sense of bewilderment towards things we may have become accustomed to, or uninterested in seeing as we grow older; I want to bring back that sense of magic that occurs within the innocent mind.
This two-part series aims to create and simplify art using a youthful approach. Without debate about deep, hidden meanings, the viewer may solely focus on the feeling of nostalgia. The intrusive, overwhelming voices in our minds can sometimes be overwhelming; these paintings are a temporary time portal that transport you into a simpler method of thought.
